There are three keys for designing knitted clothing.

1. Elasticity
Knitted fabrics have good elasticity, which can reduce joints, folds and splices as much as possible when designing sample plate. Besides, knitted fabrics generally are not suitable for pushing or hot. Use the own elasticity or folds to fit with human curvature. So the elasticity of fabrics becomes an important factor when designing sample.

If the fabric has quite high elasticity, relaxed stretched can be neglected during design. The size cannot only be the same as human surrounded size, but also can be reduced for elastic coefficient.

2. Curling
Curling of knitted fabrics refers to fabric in edge coiling caused by stress inside edge loops disappearing. Curling is an inadequacy of knitted fabrics. It can cause irregular joint or edge sizes variation, influencing the whole modeling effects and sizes of clothing and. However, not all of knitted fabrics have curling. Some fabrics have that such as plain-knitted fabrics. For this fabric, when design sample plate, turnup through adding sizes, splicing ribs or binding and adhering backs at the edge can eliminate curling. Curling on some fabrics can be eliminated during after treatment, in case of troubles during designing sample plate.

What should be noticed is that some design styles is refreshing. Particularly, using curling can form unique figures or cutting lines when knitting molding clothing.

3. Raveling
The styles and feature of knitted fabrics are different from woven fabrics. The style does not only bring advantages of fabrics into play, but also overcome the disadvantages. For some fabrics having raveling, when design and manufacture sample plate, exaggerate methods cannot be used too much. Provincial roads and cutting lines should be omitted as far as possible and joint crack also cannot be too much, in case of loops raveling and impacting serviceability. Concise and soft lines should be applied to match the soft style of knitted clothing.
